Eli Lilly to cut cost of insulin to $35

Hundreds of millions of people around the world need life saving insulin to control their diabetes. The price of insulin skyrocketed well past inflation the past two decades. Eli Lilly is following the US government’s Medicare lead and capping the cost of insulin injections for $35 with anyone having private insurance. Eli Lilly controls 30% of the insulin market in the US. This is a big deal. Details here on CNBC.

Rep. Cathy Rodgers of Washington, the Republican chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, dismissed Biden’s February call to cap prices for everyone as “socialist” and a “federal mandate.”
